AC/DC incubators run on both 240V mains electricity and 12V direct current (solar panel or car battery) simultaneously. When Kenya Power cuts off, the machine detects the loss and switches to the 12V source automatically — within milliseconds, with no drop in temperature or humidity. No alarm, no action needed. A standard 12V car battery can power a 128-egg incubator for 8–12 hours during an outage. A small 50W solar panel handles continuous off-grid operation.

Chicken eggs take exactly 21 days from the start of incubation to hatch. Days 1–18 are the incubation phase: temperature 37.5°C, humidity 55–60%, automatic turning every 2 hours. Day 18 is "lockdown": turning stops, humidity rises to 70%, and the incubator must not be opened. Chicks begin hatching on day 19 and the process completes by day 21. Eggs that have not hatched by day 22 are unlikely to hatch.

EcoKuku delivers every incubator with free installation and training at your location. Our technician sets it up, shows you the controls, and walks you through your first loading. But the basics are: (1) Place on a stable surface away from direct sunlight and draughts. (2) Plug in and run empty for 24 hours to stabilise temperature. (3) Fill water channels to target humidity. (4) Load eggs with the pointed end down or horizontal. (5) Set the automatic turning timer. (6) Do not open unnecessarily. Call us at any point — we support you throughout your first hatch.

Yes — all chicken breeds incubate at the same temperature, humidity and turning schedule. You can mix breeds in the same incubator as long as you set them at the same time (they all hatch on day 21). The machine does not distinguish between breeds. The only variable that changes hatch rate is egg quality and fertility — which depends on your parent stock, not the breed.

Yes — all EcoKuku incubators carry a 1-year warranty covering manufacturing defects and electrical faults. The warranty does not cover physical damage, water damage, or faults caused by incorrect voltage supply.
